Document Inbox Overview and Setup

Written by Stacey Burk

Overview

The Document Inbox serves as your central hub for managing all carrier documents. When you connect carriers to the Eventual Platform, documents are automatically downloaded and appear here for review and processing.

Getting Started

Before you can use the Document Inbox, you need to connect at least one carrier. If no carriers are connected, you'll see a setup screen with the Start Setup button to begin the onboarding process.

Once carriers are connected, the Document Inbox displays: - A summary of documents retrieved and active carriers - A filterable table of all downloaded documents - Tools to review, process, or skip documents

Understanding the Document Table

Each row in the Document Inbox represents a document downloaded from a carrier. The table displays the following information:

Column

Description

Downloaded

Date and time the document was retrieved

Carrier

The carrier name and AMS code (if available)

Document

The document type and file name

Type

Policy type (Personal Lines or Commercial Lines)

Source

Icon indicating whether the document came from a website or email

Document Info

Policy number and client name extracted from the document

Actions

Available actions such as Review or View Runs

Document Types

The Eventual Platform automatically identifies and categorizes documents into the following types:

  • Renewal Notice

  • Cancellation Notice

  • Pre-Cancellation Notice

  • Endorsement

  • New Business

  • Audit

  • Reinstatement Notice

  • Non-Renewal Notice

  • Conditional Renewal Notice

  • Direct Bill Commission Statement

  • And more

Filtering Documents

Click the Filter button to narrow down the documents displayed. You can filter by:

  • Document Type - Select specific document types to view

  • Policy Type - Filter by Personal Lines or Commercial Lines

  • Carriers - Show documents from specific carriers only

  • Branches - Filter by agency branch (includes option to show documents with unidentified branches)

  • Download Date - Select a date range using presets (Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, etc.) or a custom range

Active filters appear as badges next to the Filter button. Click the X on any badge to remove that filter, or click Reset Filters to clear all filters.

Reviewing Documents

When a document requires your attention, a Review button appears in the Actions column. Clicking this button opens the review workflow where you can:

  1. Verify the document type and policy type are correct

  2. Confirm or update the matched policy information

  3. Trigger AI workflows to process the document

Note: If you have Enable Document Review turned on in Settings, all documents will require manual review before any workflow is triggered.

Document Actions

Skip a Document

If a document doesn't require processing, click the three-dot menu on the document row and select Skip document. Skipped documents appear grayed out in the list.

To restore a skipped document, click the Undo button that appears on skipped document rows.

View Document Details

Click on any document row to open the details panel on the right side. This panel shows: - Document preview - Download date and time - Matched policy and client information (with links to your AMS if available) - Processing history showing each action taken on the document

View AI Runs

For documents that have been processed, click View Runs to see the AI workflows that were triggered and their status.

Duplicate Documents

The Eventual Platform automatically detects duplicate documents. When duplicates are found, they appear grouped under the primary document with a yellow Duplicate badge.

If a document is incorrectly marked as a duplicate, click Mark as not duplicate to separate it from the group.

Connected Carriers

Click the Connected Carriers button in the top-right corner to view and manage your carrier connections. From this page you can: - See the status of each carrier connection - Add new carriers - Edit existing carrier credentials - View retrieval statistics

Settings

Enable Document Review

Go to Settings > Document Retrieval to configure whether documents require manual review before triggering workflows.

When enabled, all downloaded documents will require you to confirm the document type and policy type before any AI workflow runs. When disabled, documents proceed automatically through configured workflows.
