Adding carriers

How to add carriers for Document Retrieval using website retrieval or email forwarding.

Written by Stacey Burk

Adding Carriers

Carrier connections help the Eventual Platform retrieve carrier documents automatically. You can add a carrier using either website retrieval or email forwarding, depending on how the carrier sends documents to your agency.

Before You Begin

Before adding a carrier for Document Retrieval, make sure you have the information needed for the connection method you plan to use.

Connection method

What you need

Website

The carrier portal URL, username, password, and any MFA details required to sign in.

Email

The agency email address that receives documents from the carrier, plus access to set up forwarding from that mailbox.

Tip: Use a shared inbox when possible. Shared inboxes are easier to maintain if individual team members change roles or leave the agency.

Open Carrier Connections

  1. Go to Carrier Connections.

  2. Click Add Connection.

  3. Search for and select the carrier you want to add.

After you select the carrier, choose the connection method that matches how the carrier makes documents available to your agency.

Add A Carrier For Website Retrieval

Use website retrieval when Eventual should sign in to the carrier portal and retrieve documents from the website.

  1. Under Select document types to download, choose the document types Eventual should retrieve for this carrier.

  2. Under Select connection method, choose Website.

  3. In Website Address, enter the carrier portal login URL if it is not already filled in.

  4. Enter the carrier portal Username and Password.

  5. If the carrier uses MFA, turn on MFA (Multi Factor Authentication).

  6. Under Select the MFA method, choose the method the carrier uses.

  7. If needed, click Add Agency Code or Add Security Question and enter any additional carrier-specific details.

  8. Click Save.

MFA Options

MFA method

How to complete setup

Email

Choose the email address that receives OTP codes from the carrier.

Authenticator

Enter the authenticator key from the carrier's MFA setup page.

Phone

Contact Eventual support so phone-based OTP can be configured.

Note: If you cannot save the connection, review the required fields in the setup window. Website connections usually require a website address, username, password, and any required MFA details.

Add A Carrier For Email Forwarding

Use email forwarding when the carrier sends documents to an agency inbox instead of making them available through a carrier website.

  1. Under Select document types to download, choose the document types Eventual should retrieve for this carrier.

  2. Under Select connection method, choose Email.

  3. Under Select the email that receives documents from [Carrier], choose the agency email address that receives emails from that carrier.

  4. Click Save.

Set Up Forwarding For Document Retrieval

After the email carrier connection is saved, set up forwarding from your agency inbox to your dedicated Eventual forwarding address.

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select Email Forwarding.

  3. Copy the dedicated forwarding email address shown on the page.

  4. In your agency email system, create a rule that forwards carrier document emails to the dedicated Eventual forwarding address.

  5. Confirm the rule sends a copy of incoming carrier document emails instead of moving the original message out of the agency inbox.

For security reasons, forwarding can only be set up from email addresses associated with Eventual. If the email address you need is not available, contact Eventual support.

Review Retrieved Documents

Once a carrier connection is active, retrieved documents appear in the Document Inbox.

  1. Go to Document Inbox.

  2. Review newly retrieved documents in the inbox table.

  3. If a document requires review, click Review.

  4. Confirm the document type and policy type before triggering any workflow.

Note: If a forwarded document does not appear, confirm that the forwarding rule is sending from an approved agency email address and that the carrier email includes the document attachment.
