Adding Carriers
Carrier connections help the Eventual Platform retrieve Direct Bill commission statements and related carrier documents automatically. You can add a carrier using either website retrieval or email forwarding, depending on how the carrier sends statements to your agency.
Before You Begin
Before adding a carrier, make sure you have the information needed for the connection method you plan to use.
Connection method | What you need |
Website | The carrier portal URL, username, password, and any MFA details required to sign in. |
The agency email address that receives statements or documents from the carrier, plus access to set up forwarding from that mailbox. |
Tip: Use a shared inbox, such as [email protected], when possible. Shared inboxes are easier to maintain if individual team members change roles or leave the agency.
Open Carrier Connections
Go to Carrier Connections.
Click Add Connection.
Search for and select the carrier you want to add.
After you select the carrier, choose the connection method that matches how the carrier sends statements or documents to your agency.
Add A Carrier For Website Retrieval
Use website retrieval when Eventual should sign in to the carrier portal and retrieve documents from the website.
Under Select document types to download, choose the document types Eventual should retrieve for this carrier.
Under Select connection method, choose Website.
In Website Address, enter the carrier portal login URL if it is not already filled in.
Enter the carrier portal Username and Password.
If the carrier uses MFA, turn on MFA (Multi Factor Authentication).
Under Select the MFA method, choose the method the carrier uses.
If needed, click Add Agency Code or Add Security Question and enter any additional carrier-specific details.
Click Save.
MFA Options
MFA method | How to complete setup |
Choose the email address that receives OTP codes from the carrier. | |
Authenticator | Enter the authenticator key from the carrier's MFA setup page. |
Phone | Contact Eventual support so phone-based OTP can be configured. |
Note: If you cannot save the connection, review the required fields in the setup window. Website connections usually require a website address, username, password, and any required MFA details.
Add A Carrier For Email Forwarding
Use email forwarding when the carrier sends Direct Bill commission statements or other documents to an agency inbox.
Under Select document types to download, choose the document types Eventual should retrieve for this carrier.
Under Select connection method, choose Email.
Under Select the email that receives documents from [Carrier], choose the agency email address that receives emails from that carrier.
Click Save.
Set Up Forwarding For Direct Bill Statements
After the email carrier connection is saved, set up forwarding from your agency inbox to your dedicated Eventual forwarding address.
Go to Settings.
Select Email Forwarding.
Copy the dedicated forwarding email address shown on the page.
In your agency email system, create a rule that forwards carrier statement emails to the dedicated Eventual forwarding address.
Confirm the rule sends a copy of incoming carrier statement emails instead of moving the original message out of the agency inbox.
For security reasons, forwarding can only be set up from email addresses associated with Eventual. If the email address you need is not available, contact Eventual support.
Review Forwarded Statements
Once forwarding is active, imported Direct Bill statements appear in the Statements workflow.
Go to Workflows.
Select Statements.
Open the Inbox to review pre-processed statements that are ready for import.
Continue with the normal Direct Bill statement workflow.
Note: If a forwarded statement does not appear, confirm that the forwarding rule is sending from an approved agency email address and that the carrier email includes the statement attachment.
